African coast soap
This soap retains the archaic and traditional term “soap” in its name and, being of African origin, references the Atlantic African coastline that Portuguese navigators would sight and traverse since the 16th century. Its physical origin is located in the area now encompassing Guinea to Nigeria. The coast soap (Ose Dudu) was distributed and highly valued among slaves and freed individuals in Brazil.
This black soap is used in several African and South American countries for personal hygiene, but especially for removing negative energies during ceremonial acts, personal cleansing rituals with therapeutic or magical purposes, and the preparation and cleaning of ritual objects. Physically, this coast soap is widely used to aid in detoxification and body cleansing, particularly against dandruff, blackheads, acne, dark spots, itching, and scalp fungi.
