A guide is not just a simple necklace; it's a protective object that must be consecrated by an entity or through consecration rituals during the believer's initiation process to work effectively.

WORK GUIDES AND PROTECTION GUIDES

There are various types of guides. Work guides are used by believers in temples during spiritual work. Typically, these are received during the initiation process and help connect the medium with entities while protecting them during rituals. They indicate the levels of initiation a believer has achieved and the guides they carry.

HOW TO CLEAN GUIDES?

Guides should be washed with water from natural sources depending on the corresponding Orixá. Since it's difficult to find crystal clear spring water, sea water, or waterfall water in big cities, it's recommended to wash them with mineral water or give them a bath of Amaci, which can be purchased at religious goods stores. Always ask your spiritual guide to clean and energize your guide when you visit a temple.

WHEN TO USE THE GUIDE?

Since a guide is a sacred object, it doesn't need to be worn continuously, especially if it's a work guide. A protection guide can be worn all the time without needing to be exposed. If wearing it around your neck isn't possible for professional or personal reasons, you can put it in a small white pouch (like an amulet) and carry it in your bag, wallet, or pocket.
