This gypsy deck or gypsy tarot has been updated by the Lo Scarabeo publishing house and consists of a 36-card deck (known as a gypsy deck), a detailed instruction book in Portuguese, and a cardboard case for storing the book and card deck.

The instruction book was written by Laura Tuan and commented on by Emanuel J. Santos. The cards measure 8.8 cm in width and 12.50 cm in length.

About the Lenormand Oracle (gypsy deck)

Marie Anne Lenormand (1768-1843), universally known as Mlle Lenormand, made a profession of divination, particularly card reading.

She became famous due to her privileged connections with Empress Josephine de Beauharnais and her husband Napoleon Bonaparte. Her association with the high society of the time earned her the nickname “Sibyl of the salons,” inspiring the creation of a 52-figure divination game published in 1828. The sibyl of Madame Marie-Anne Adelaide Lenormand presents immediate symbolism and traditional and intuitive interpretations.

Around 1840, this game was redesigned and reduced to 36 cards, giving rise to the “Petit Lenormand,” a divination system that is still highly appreciated worldwide today.

The Lenormand deck is often referred to as a gypsy deck or gypsy oracle.
