Rudraksha Japamala Bracelet

The Rudraksha Japamala bracelet consists of 27 beads (+ 1 guru bead) made from rudraksha seeds. Multiplying by 4, this totals the symbolic number of 108 beads, which is standard in japamalas.

The name rudraksha comes from the seeds of the Elaeocarpus ganitrus tree, resembling small nuts. Various Hindu deities are depicted with strings and beads of rudraksha. These seeds are associated with various healing powers and numerous auspicious and prosperous qualities.

ABOUT THE JAPAMALA

The japamala or mala (Sanskrit: माला; mālā, meaning garland) is a series of beads, typically consisting of 108 beads, used by Hindus and Buddhists to count mantras, similar to rosaries. This practice is called Japá in Sanskrit.

The number holds particular significance both physically and spiritually in Hinduism and Buddhism. Sometimes, some malas include four markers called chaturmaharaja, which are different and often symbolic beads. The 109th bead is called sumeru (central mountain of Buddhist cosmology), bindu (point of creation), stupa (dome that houses relics), or guru bead (master).

This bead is never counted but indicates the beginning or end of a count.
